From the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Coordinator

Good afternoon everyone,

Both Mr Lo Cascio and Mr Cloran have made reference to the latest changes to COVID-19 restrictions released earlier this week. Appreciating that these changes are fairly fluid and can change again at short notice, on a day to basis across the College site the fundamentals of Social Distancing and Hand Hygiene should be at the forefront of our COVID-19 safe behaviours. I would ask that parents and carers please support the College in these objectives through reminding their sons/daughters of the importance of maintaining these habits.

Some students have made the choice to wear face masks whilst at school to provide another level of protection.  The College supports these students in their choice to wear masks, but ask that they do so in a manner that does not cause a disruption to the day to day learning or wellbeing of other students. It is recommended that masks be a single colour and not contain extravagant or offensive designs that cause comment.

Last week I made reference to the College expectations regarding mobile phones. In the event that phones are confiscated from students because they are being used at the wrong time or in an inappropriate manner, they will be placed in a locked area at the College Office as a means of providing a secure area for the devices. In most cases students will be able to collect the device at the end of the day at the discretion of the appropriate Year Coordinator or the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Coordinator. Repeat offences will require parents or carers to personally collect devices from the College.

The middle of the term often correlates with increased assessment demands, tiredness, frustration and in 2020, the obvious challenges presented by COVID-19. Please contact the College or the appropriate Year Coordinator if you are concerned about your son/daughter’s learning or wellbeing as we enter this phase of our term.

Thanks again for your ongoing support.

Mr Simon Huntly
