Good afternoon everyone,

I trust that everyone enjoyed the mid-year break and are refreshed and re-energised for the commencement of the second half of the year. Today we were able to celebrate our first whole school Mass in some time and it is hoped that the opportunity to continue to celebrate significant events as a whole community can continue, despite the challenges that the pandemic continues to present us with. Thanks to all staff and students for their involvement in today’s celebration and a special word of thanks to those parents and carers who attended.

At this point, as we embark on the commencement of another term of learning all students now have an opportunity to reflect on their past semester of learning and identify areas of growth and areas for improvement in each of their respective subjects. Semester One reports provide clear feedback regarding each of these areas and are a valuable starting point for the setting of learning goals and as a stimulus for conversation with class teachers and Pastoral Advisors over the course of the next few weeks.

 Elevate Education  

Elevate Education is continuing to provide parents of Mount Carmel Catholic College exclusive access to their Parent Webinar Series for Term 3, 2022. This term’s topics are as follows:

• Note Making - August 28
• Exam Room Skills - September 9
• Memory - September 21

Next week’s webinar on Motivation is on Wednesday on July 27th, at 6:30pm (AEST) where they will be covering live:

• What impact does praise and reassurance have on your child's motivation?
• What are the best type of goals to be setting with your child?
• How can you help your child create meaningful and lasting motivation?

The webinar is run live online where the presenter will share Elevate’s research findings and skills and will conduct a live Q&A so you can ask them questions directly.

 Sports Uniform Reminder

• Only College caps to be worn to, from and at school.
• Only MCCC school or sports socks are to be worn.
• Sports jackets to be worn on Tuesday for sport or designated practical days for PDHPE or PASS only. Refer to pages 17-20 of the student diary for further information regarding uniform expectations.
• As there are no practical lessons scheduled on a Friday, all students are expected to be in full uniform.
• Please provide a written explanation for those instances where circumstances make it difficult to adhere to these expectations.
