TAS Update
Stage 5 and Stage 4 classes have been working over the past couple of terms on a project in their area of study. They recently completed this project and we have some thoughtful and creative design examples in all the areas from Timber, Food and Agriculture and Textiles projects to share with the Mount Carmel community.

Students are asked to solve a design problem/challenge by thinking creatively about solutions to meet the needs of the problem/challenge. They work through a series of activities as part of the formal design process to research, think and develop creative design ideas, graphically represent these ideas, research materials and processes to build the design, evaluate and test these design ideas before planning and constructing the final product. Students then reflect on the whole process by evaluating their final product and the design process they followed to look for ways they could have improved their work. This process forms the basis of all TAS projects in all courses. Our future designers (fashion, chefs, graphics, furniture, multimedia, etc), inventors and innovators start here.
