Advent Candle

The third candle is pink and symbolizes joy. It is called the “Shepard's Candle,” and is pink because rose is a liturgical color for joy.

This will be lit at mass on Sunday.

THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT YEAR A

First Reading  Is 35:1-6, 10    The desert will rejoice and blossom.

Second Reading  Jas 5:7-10  Be patient, even in suffering.

Gospel Acclamation:  Is 61:1 (Lk 4:18)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me;

he sent me to bring Good News to the poor.
