From the Pastoral Care & Wellbeing Coordinator
As we celebrated the year earlier today with a range of Year Group Awards, Whole School end of year Mass, Years 7 to Academic and Cultural Awards and Musical Extravaganza, our last day of school was only the final part of what has been a busy week.
Earlier in the week Year 10 participated in a range of activities for their “Transition Week”, which involved preparation for Stage 6 learning and individual and group challenge activities at Stanwell Tops (monday and Tuesday), Elevate Education Careers Pathway presentations on Wednesday, Liturgy, Police Safe Partying presentation and team building activities on Thursday and involvement in today’s program. Thanks to Mr Rees, Ms Miller, the Year 10 Pastoral team and all staff involved in the organisation and presentation of the initiatives over the past week. Thanks also to the students of Year 10 who engaged in the program in an enthusiastic and cooperative manner.
Monday saw Year Seven attend their “Swim and Survive” day at the Whitlam Centre at Liverpool. This saw students engage in practical activities relating to Basic First Aid and Swimming Survival Skills. Again, thanks to Ms Tyra and Ms Valastro who coordinated the day, the staff who supervised and instructed the swimming program and to the students for their participation and cooperation.
Mental Health Resources
As we say farewell to the academic year of 2022, as has been the pattern over the past couple of years, some members of our community find some aspects of life to be a challenge. When on site, there are a range of support structures that students have access to - friends, teachers, Year Coordinators and Catholic Care Counselling Staff. The Catholic Education Office of Wollongong and Catholic Care have provided a valuable resource should students, families or someone they know require some support over the break. A link to the resource is below and all students will have an individual link shared with them on Compass.

Uniform & Grooming
Upon our return to school in 2023 we would expect all students to be wearing the full correct uniform for both summer and winter, as well as meeting standards regarding grooming (hair, jewellery, make-up etc). This information will be reiterated a number of times between now and the return to classes next year. Please refer to the links below regarding these expectations.

Finally, on behalf of the Pastoral and Wellbeing team (our Year Coordinators, Assistant Year Coordinators and Pastoral Advisors), thanks to all families and students for your cooperation and support throughout what has been an exciting year. May each and every member of our community have a happy, safe and holy Christmas.
Mr Simon Huntly
