Winter Uniform reminder

A reminder that the College Winter Uniform is to be worn by all students from the commencement of Term 2. The College blazer must be worn to and from school each day, except Tuesday or when wearing the College sports uniform. Please refer to the College Student Diary for information on the uniform and grooming policies.

College expectations and student behaviours

A College assembly was held today where the community gathered and the students were reminded about College key expectations and positive behaviours from Mount Carmel students. As always, we encourage parents and carers to discuss the Pastoral Care (promoting safety and growth) policy with their children. This can be found in the College Diary. We thank Parents and Carers for your continued support in ensuring your children are meeting these expectations. It is important that we work together as a community to ensure that we have safe environments, where respect, pride, connections, resilience, wellbeing, growth and personal best are priority.

Main areas discussed today were:

  • The hands off policy. Students are to keep their hands to themselves, and acknowledge and respect the personal space of their peers.
  • Respecting the College environment - placing all rubbish in the designated bins. Use the correct bins for recycling.
  • Dacking/Pantsing - linked to the hands off policy. This is not a socially acceptable and respectful behaviour. Those involved will be issued with formal consequences.
  • Banned items - spray/aerosols, chewing gum, peanut products, and energy drinks are not permitted at the College.
  • Mobile phones: Must be turned off and away from 8:40am until the end of school day at 3:15pm. If students are using phones for non educational purposes during the school day they will be confiscated. No filming of any peer/teacher is permitted. Parents are also reminded to use the College front office to get messages to their child during the school day.

St Greg’s symposium

The St Gregory College community welcomes you to their symposium; “The s*xual world of the 21st century adolescent”

This is an adult-only event where Collective Shout facilitators, Daniel Principe and Melinda Tankard Reist, will empower you in the difficult role of guiding young people to healthy adulthood as they navigate the online world and the hypers*xualised landscape they are constantly exposed to.

Tickets are $10 plus fees and all community members are welcomed.  Please purchase your tickets through this link.
