Acting Pastoral Care & Wellbeing Coordinator

I hope the week has been a positive one for all families. As we approach the final three weeks of term three, I encourage parents to support their children in staying focused and resilient, especially when it comes to assessments, and final examinations for Year 11 and Year 12. Maintaining effort and cultivating a growth mindset can make all the difference.

Some helpful tips to support your child during this time. Encourage your child to:

  1. Stay organised: Create a study schedule to ensure they cover all their subjects and allocate sufficient time for revision.
  2. Set realistic goals: Break down their assessments into manageable goals, then celebrate small victories along the way.
  3. Embrace challenges: Have your child see challenges as opportunities for growth. Instead of fearing them, welcome them as chances to learn and improve.
  4. Seek support: Encourage your child to reach out to teachers or classmates if they are struggling. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
  5. Stay positive: Cultivate a growth mindset in your child by having them believe in thier ability to develop through hard work and dedication.

These last few weeks are a chance to demonstrate their commitment and determination. Find a way to support them to keep their eye on the prize, and they will finish the term stronger and more resilient than ever.

Thank you again for your ongoing support throughout the term to date. Please do not hesitate to contact the College should you require any support with your son or daughter’s learning and wellbeing.

Growing good Men:

Father & Teenage Son Weekend Experience

20-22 October 2023 Cataract Scout Camp Appin

One of the most important influences in the lives of men is the relationship they had with their father or significant father figure. The encouragement and affirmation that this relationship could, and should, provide is a key ingredient for how young men view themselves and embrace their gifts as they take their place in the world.

Don’t miss this life-changing father and son weekend! Spots are limited to just 25 fathers with their sons aged between 12 and 16 years. This is a unique opportunity for dads and their sons to embark on a quest of discovery with Robert Falzon and the team from menALIVE.
