Around the Grounds

As we approach the conclusion of Term 3 in 2023, it's a fitting moment to look back and celebrate the remarkable accomplishments and contributions that have enriched the world of sports within our esteemed institution. To our exceptional athletes at Mount Carmel, we want to convey our appreciation for your exemplary representation of our College with boundless pride and extraordinary talent. The commitment to sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience has been nothing short of inspirational, particularly considering the disruptions that sports have faced over the past few years. Throughout the course of the last two terms, our College has had the privilege of participating in a variety of prestigious events, including those organised by the Macarthur Independent Schools Association (MISA) and Diocesan competitions. At the conclusion of Term 3 we are still leading the MISA competition with a slender lead over our counterpart schools. Hopefully Term 4 helps us retain the trophy and championship school status.

In the true spirit of Mount Carmel, our students have not only excelled at an individual level but have also showcased the unity and camaraderie that define our college community. It is imperative to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated coaches and staff members who have generously invested countless hours in training, mentoring, and guiding our athletes. Their expertise, guidance, and unwavering support have been instrumental in the success of sports within our college.

As we return from the holiday break, we eagerly anticipate a new rotation of sports and the onset of another term of MISA sports. With hope in our hearts, we look forward to the continued flow of accolades and achievements, as Mount Carmel strives to maintain its dominance over other independent schools in the Macarthur region. We remind all our students to remain vigilant and stay updated by checking their emails for all pertinent information regarding sports activities and events for the remainder of the year.

Congratulations to Hudson Warren, Josh Manson and Onitolosi Latu who have all been named in the Macarthur West Tigers summer squad for the Andrew Johns Cup team. The Under-16s Andrew Johns Cup is NSW's regional representative competition, renamed after True Blue Andrew Johns in 2018. This is a great opportunity and pathway for these three students. We are lucky to have such a talented background in Rugby League at Mount Carmel. Well done and good luck throughout the holidays.
