August is for St Mary Mackillop
Mount Carmel has a connection to the Josephite order through the first Assistant Principal. Sr Maria Casey. Sr Maria was instrumental in completing the application and processing the Vatican paperwork, which was used to support St Mary Mackillop becoming a saint.
This year, the Church has encouraged all Catholics to be pilgrims and to visit special places, one of which is Mary Mackillop Place. It's an easy train ride there, nice grounds, and a small church. I encourage each of you to make the time to visit and be a "pilgrim of hope".

Year 12 Holiday Study Class for Studies of Religion
Over the holiday period, 25 Year 12 students came into school to complete some essential review and exam practice. During the three hours, they worked in small teams to review content, co-plan responses to exam questions, and then write responses under exam conditions. They were rewarded with quick feedback and chocolates. Well done, Year 12 it was such a great time working together before the Trial Exams. Some pictures of them in "action".
