Year 9 Peer Assisted Study

It has been a very productive week at Peer Assisted Study, as Year 9 students prepared for their Mathematics Common Task during our Wednesday session. We were privileged enough to have a number of mathematics teachers and a senior student who took time out of their day to provide guidance and assistance to students during this busy exam period. The initiative continues to be supported by Year 9 pastoral advisors, including Miss Bowen and Miss Young.
Developed by the 9 Howard 1 Captains, key aims of the program include assisting students in maintaining good academic work habits, and providing them with the opportunity to demonstrate a consistent and applied approach to their learning. The program also promotes the academic culture of the College and allows students to gain a broader range of knowledge from a wider network of staff and students, work in a collaborative and supportive environment, and share their own skills and ideas with others in the cohort. Peer Assisted Study maintains a studious, purposeful and focused environment where students are able to catch up, revise and plan for upcoming assessment tasks if unable to do so at home.
We hope that this initiative can help Year 9 students find the help that they might need in the midst of all the chaos! Peer Assisted Study is available to all Year 9 students during recess on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in I3.
