Diocesan Events / Trials - Term 4
Mount Carmel is a part of the Diocese of Wollongong so we compete in Diocesan Sporting events throughout the college year. At these events / carnivals, schools from the Diocese of Wollongong come together to compete for points towards the Vince Villa Trophy that is awarded to the Champion School at the end of the College year. Mount Carmel historically performs well at these Diocesan events and last year finished a close 3rd place overall in the Vince Villa Trophy.

Diocesan AFL Carnival (Boys & Girls) - Friday 18 October 2019
Boys
Venue: Thomas Dalton Park, Fairy Meadow
Departure Time: 7:00am sharp by coach/bus
Return Time: Approximately 4:00pm
Uniform: Full college sports uniform. Students will be supplied with a playing singlet. Students MUST wear a mouthguard to take the field.
Canteen: There will be no canteen facilities at the venue. Students are to supply their own food and drink on the day.
Girls
Venue: Monarch Oval, Macquarie Fields
Departure Time: 7:30am sharp by coach/bus
Return Time: Approximately 3:45pm
Uniform: Full college sports uniform. Students will be supplied with a playing singlet. Students MUST wear a mouthguard to take the field.
Canteen: There will be no canteen facilities at the venue. Students are to supply their own food and drink on the day.
** Notes will be issued to students ASAP.
Diocesan Basketball Carnival (Boys & Girls) - Monday 21 October 2019
Boys
** Students are to arrange their own transport to and from the carnival. If this isn’t possible can you please see Mrs Pontin asap.
Venue: Minto Indoor Sports Centre, Minto
Arrival Time: 7:30am sharp
Carnival Conclusion Time: Approximately 3:00pm
Uniform: Full college sports uniform. Students will be supplied with a playing singlet.
Canteen: There will be limited canteen facilities at the venue. Students are encouraged to supply their own food and drink on the day.

Venue: Beaton Park ‘Snakepit’, Gwynneville
Departure Time: 7:00am sharp

NSWCCC ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS - Friday 20 September 2019
Congratulations to the MCCC students who competed at the CCC Athletics Championships last Friday at Homebush Athletics Centre (Blake Bolwell, Alexis Brunt, Nathan Cann, Tye Fepuleai, Matthew Galvin, Joey Gossayn, Ben Kaufusi and Jordan Darnley). NSWCCC ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS - Friday 20 September 2019
Congratulations to the MCCC students who competed at the CCC Athletics Championships last Friday at Homebush Athletics Centre (Blake Bolwell, Alexis Brunt, Nathaniel Calvelo, Nathan Cann, Tye Fepuleai, Matthew Galvin, Joey Gossayn, Ben Kaufusi and Jordan Darnley). The competition is always extremely tough and impressive. Results are yet to be uploaded to the CSSS website. As soon as we have access to these results I will include them in the college newsletter. Well done again to all of our competitors.
Good luck also to the students who have registered for the All Schools Championships that will take place this weekend. Alexis, Tye and Monique we hope you all compete well and get the results you are after. GOOD LUCK!

Canteen: There will be limited canteen facilities at the venue. Students are encouraged to supply their own food and drink on the day.

NOMINATIONS – APPLICATION PROCESS
(To self-nominate and get approved for these events, students need to be competing at a representative level in their chosen sport).
Please refer to the information sheet provided by the Sports Coordinator for the process for individual student nominations for trials for NSWCCC events. All trial closing dates will be advertised in the newsletter and in the student weekly sport update emails. Students can register for events at any time.
MC SPORTING STARS - Bexleigh Sultana, Amber-Leigh Ferrari and Bethany Ferrari attended the 2019 National Clubs Gymnastics Carnival on the Gold Coast on Sunday 15 September where they participated in the National Team Gym competition. Teams at this event travel from all over Australia to participate and we are thrilled to celebrate that girls came away with a Gold medal, 1st Place – making them the Australian National Team Gymnastics Open Division Champions 2019. A huge achievement for these girls and one that needs to be recognised and celebrated by the college community!
The girls have been training extremely hard all year to perfect their routines and the hard work and dedication reflected in this great result. Congratulations girls! The sky's the limit. Good luck in any future events. Your MC community are proud!
