Steptember

During the month of September, multiple students willingly volunteered themselves to take part in Steptember which was a charity event for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance to help people living with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. One in two people with cerebral palsy are in chronic pain due to the tightening of their muscles and many will never be able to take a single step without assistance.

Students were assigned with the dedicated task to walk 10,000 steps for 28 days whilst culminating ways to fundraise money to help those who need it the most. This was not only an opportunity to increase physical activity but to be able to grow as a unique individual knowing through having the gift of walking, we are able to help others too.

This intricately relates back to being more thankful for what we have and help others through the gifts provided by God because we are all brothers and sisters who are instructed to help one another.

“Don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need.”

Hebrews 13:16

Every dollar raised goes towards providing vital equipment, therapy and services to those living with cerebral palsy, and/or contributes to groundbreaking research into the prevention and maybe even one day cure for CP!
