Diocesan Events Term 4
Mount Carmel is a part of the Diocese of Wollongong so we compete in Diocesan Sporting events throughout the college year. At these events / carnivals, schools from the Diocese of Wollongong come together to compete for points towards the Vince Villa Trophy that is awarded to the Champion School at the end of the College year. Mount Carmel historically performs well at these Diocesan events and last year finished a close 3rd place overall in the Vince Villa Trophy.

With the summer holidays fast approaching, there will be the inclusion of a ‘Summer Safety Tip’ in the newsletter each week. These tips will act as a reminder for our students and the wider community to look after themselves and their friends / family in the summer months.
Tip #1 - Be Sun Smart
With the weather warming up it is important to exercise caution when out in the harsh Australian sun. Being sun smart in your teenage years can significantly impact your life in the future, so making wise decisions now is imperative. The sun’s UV radiation is the main cause of skin cancer so it is crucial that we are Slipping on Clothing, Slopping on Sunscreen, Slapping on a hat, Seeking shade where possible and Sliding on Sunglasses. Look out for each other and remind your friends about the harsh reality of neglecting these simple steps. Enjoy the warm weather!
